Have only had the product for a couple of days so I can't speak for durablity. Depth of field is great, lighting is excellent, edge to edge clarity and cheap batteries. Being 65 and having trouble with resolution in examining rocks and minerals I have many hand magnifying products, none comes close to the images this produces. Excellent product.

The SE Mini UV Microscope is only good on a flat surface. My interest was for mineral identification. For flat surface work I would rate it a five but for minerals only a three star.

The claim of 45x magnification was more than I could get. I noticed about 4x. I took the tube out and noticed the two lenses were fixed and not adjustable with respect to each other. The image is good, but not better than a good single piece magnifying glass.
